UDELV, INC.

Design and build automated cargo area and sensor packaging to be used as a show car/development platform.

Udelv is a startup revolutionizing autonomous deliveries. They had the software completed and a stock donor vehicle to test autonomy with, but needed to develop the hardware for the cargo portion of the vehicle. Client approached us with just a book of renderings that needed to be further defined and physically manufactured: a fully realized testing platform/show car

I was the Lead Mechanical Engineer for the project. The team needed to redesign a donor vehicle from the ground up to maximize cargo capacity while minimizing weight, all to allow for the most efficient delivery per unit. I designed the cargo system which include a pneumatic linkage system to open individual users doors, the underlying cargo system structure, all while leading the industrial design team to design an easy to manufacture body panels made from fiberglass.

The entire project including conceptualization, design, prototyping, outsourcing, build and vehicle integration was completed in only two and a half months, two weeks ahead of the original schedule.
