ABOUT ALINA

I'm Alina Matson (she/her), the CEO and Co-founder of Glossbird. I'm a game developer, engineer, and an award-winning designer for physical and digital consumer products. My work has been featured in places like The Verge, WIRED, Digital Trends, CES, TechCrunch, IndieGameBusiness, and more. I am based out of wherever I need to be to get the job done - most of the time this is LA/SF/Seattle but you'll sometimes find me in my homestate of Minnesota or somewhere else around the world.

My bread and butter is product development from scratch. Developing products is an art that requires an intuitive understanding of customer needs, technical tradeoffs, managing budget/schedule, and leading cross-functional teams. Some of my best practices derives from my mechanical engineering daysearly decisions can make a huge impact later on in a project and it's always best to have a plan B and a plan C. My experience spans across various industries, I've done work in autonomous vehicles, AR/VR, consumer electronics, aerospace, video games, and more.

Samara Fantie and I co-founded Glossbird Games in 2022. Glossbird is an innovative game studio that creates video games that make us feel better with a focus on undertapped player markets. My personal mission is to increase diversity and inclusion in the tech and game industries. We are not only building Glossbird for and with our players, but to change the game industry at large.

As a passionate entrepreneur and startup consultant, I am a big believer that anyone can start their own startup if they can get access to the right resources, are deeply motivated, and have an ego-free willingness to learn.
