Iterative design and rapid prototyping to create final showcased prototype.

Truly painting nails is a huge challenge due to the variety of nail shapes, hand shapes, and general finesse needed to paint accurately and aesthetically. The nail painting device market today is an inkjet printer printing a nail decal; this process requires a hand painted basecoat, a hand painted masking layer on the skin, a hand painted top coat, etc. The current process requires even more manual labor than an average manicure, and doesn't actually paint nails. By combining solutions in the computer vision, mechanical and chemical engineering space, Coral has achieved salon quality manicures through it's first fully integrated prototype.

I am a founding engineer of Coral's cross-functional team that has created the first fully integrated prototype that could be safely used by the public and beta community. Development included multiple iterations through rapid prototyping and nail polish formulation testing.
